CCTV Footage Released in Wellington Death Probe

Police have released CCTV footage as they investigate the death of a man whose body was found in the Central West last month.

About 10.15pm on Friday 25 July 2025, police attended a home on Walker Crescent, Wellington, due to concerns for welfare for the resident.

Officers entered the home where the body of a 64-year-old man was located.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District - with the assistance of State Crime Command Homicide Squad - established Strike Force Rudall and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which police believe was unprovoked.

As investigations continue detectives have released CCTV footage of a man who maybe able to assist police.

The man is described as being about 175cm, thin build and was seen walking north along Thornton Street, Wellington at 2.59am on Friday 25 July 2025.

He was wearing a light-coloured beanie, navy coloured dressing gown, tan coloured pants and black/white/red coloured shoes.

Anyone who may be able to identify the man or has any available information about the incident or was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage is urged to contact Dubbo Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
