CCTV image released over robbery in Armidale

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a robbery in the state’s north overnight, NSW Police say.

About 9.50pm (Saturday 16 June 2018), a man entered a fast food restaurant in Dumaresq Street, Armidale, and approached the counter.

He threatened a staff member before stealing cash from the till and fleeing the store on a black mountain bike.

No one was injured.

Officers from New England Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is depicted in the image as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his late 20s to mid-30s, about 165cm tall, with a medium build.

The man in the image has short dark brown hair, a large square ear-ring in his left ear and a piercing to his right eyebrow.

He is shown wearing a dark-blue jacket and light-coloured pants.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
