CCTV image released, police probe robbery in Murwillumbah

Police have released a CCTV image of a man and are appealing for public assistance after a robbery in the state’s north yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 11am yesterday, a man and a woman entered a clothing store on Murwillumbah Street, Murwillumbah.

Police have been told the man stole money from the till and left the store with the woman.

They were seen leaving in a Gold Nissan Pulsar.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As part of their inquiries, police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to speak to.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of solid build, with dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a maroon shirt and thongs.

Police would also like to speak to a woman who may be able to assist them. She is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with dark brown hair, and was last seen wearing a black and white floral dress.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
