Bayside Council's CCTV Policy was endorsed at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 25 March.
Council developed the policy to provide a clear and consistent framework that is fully compliant with relevant legislation and privacy requirements.
The Policy reaffirms Council's commitment to community safety, transparency and accountability. It formalises processes between Council and NSW Police, establishes clear protocols for employee access and use, and strengthens procedures for data management and security.
Council's draft CCTV Policy, on public exhibition for 32 days late last year, received 39 submissions and no significant changes were made to the draft policy.
The policy will be published on Council's website.
