CCTV Released in Ongoing Port Macquarie Assault Probe

Detectives have released CCTV of a vehicle as an investigation continues into a serious assault in Port Macquarie late last year.

About 10.20pm on Wednesday 12 November 2025, emergency services were called to the corner of Buller and Hollingsworth Street, Port Macquarie, following reports of an assault.

Inquiries revealed that a man was walking along Buller Street when the occupants of a passing car began to throw objects at him.

A verbal altercation broke out between the man and the occupants of the vehicle, before he was assaulted by a man who exited the vehicle.

The unknown man left in the vehicle a short time later and emergency services were called to the scene.

The 45-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

He was later transported to the Sydney Eye Hospital for further treatment of head and facial injuries. He has since been discharged.

A crime scene was established and inquiries into the incident commenced by officers attached to the Mid North Coast Police District.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV of a silver Kia Rio hatchback with possible Queensland registration seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Police wish to speak with the occupants of the vehicle who might be able to assist with inquiries.
