ChangeMakers Macedon Ranges: Celebrating Solutions

Council, in partnership with the Goldfield Libraries and Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group, is excited to announce the return of ChangeMakers Macedon Ranges: a two-week festival of climate and sustainability events.

From Saturday 21 March to Saturday 4 April 2026, the festival will offer inspiring 'how to' workshops, locals teaching locals info sessions, community forums, author talks, film screenings, sustainable home & garden tours, and Eco Story & Rhyme Times in the libraries throughout the shire.

All events are free, family friendly and designed to inspire behaviour change and collective action to protect our beautiful environment and respond to increasing climate emergencies.

Following a successful launch in 2025, the program encourages local action and collaboration by supporting community groups to host events of their own choosing, promoting local climate solutions and providing residents with opportunities to get involved.

Mayor Kate Kendall encouraged residents to participate in any of the wide-ranging events, which aim to provide practical skills to make big and small changes to homes and lives.

"I always love to see events and festivals in our region with a hands-on and action focus – bonus points if they are family-friendly," she said.

"We really do have a wide variety of events for everyone. The Macedon Ranges is a national leader in sustainability initiatives and this festival provides residents and visitors with the opportunity to head along to a range of events designed to help you live a more sustainable and ecologically sensitive life.

"ChangeMakers is about learning from one another and discovering simple, practical ways to make a difference in our homes, lives, and communities."

Full event details will be published on Council's website .
