Charges after stolen vehicle involved in crash in Vincent, QLD

Three teenagers have been charged after an alleged stolen vehicle was involved in a serious traffic crash at Townsville this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 2.30am, a stolen white Ford Ranger utility was travelling east on Fulham Road in Vincent when it allegedly failed to stop at a red light then collided with a Hyundai hatchback being driven north on Nathan Street.

Police attended a short time later and observed a number of occupants fleeing the scene.

As a result, officers arrested three occupants of the ute.

The driver and sole occupant of the hatchback, a 19-year-old Belgian Gardens man was taken to Townsville Hospital for treatment to non life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.

Two boys, aged 12 and 13, have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of receiving tainted property.

He will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

The ute was stolen from a Chelsea Drive property at Condon yesterday.
