Major Crime Detectives have charged a man with committing a Violent Act Causing Death following an alleged assault on another man on February 6 in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory Police say
The victim attended the Tennant Creek Hospital on February 9 seeking treatment for injuries and was subsequently transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and later died on Friday 16 February.
Detectives confirm the incident occurred following a dispute involving a number of people at a residence on Bornite Street.
Investigators remain in Tennant Creek conducting further inquiries in relation to the matter.
A report is being prepared for the Northern Territory Coroner.
A 41-year-old man is scheduled to appear before the Tennant Creek Local Court today.
