Charges Drug Offences Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have charged a 52-year-old Adelaide man following a drug seizure in a Palmerston suburb.

As part of efforts to disrupt the sale, supply and distribution of drugs in the Northern Territory, police executed a search warrant upon the man’s residence where they located a commercial quantity of cannabis, as well as other evidence relating to alleged large scale drug supply activities, Northern Territory Police say

Police will allege the man was involved in the supply of in excess of 500 pounds of cannabis (227 kilograms) from Adelaide to Darwin over the past two years. If sold in commercial quantities in Darwin this would have an estimated value of $1.6 million.

The Drug and Organised Crime Division’s Detective A/Superintendent Karen Sanderson praised the work of investigators.

"The arrest of higher level dealers such as this is our goal," Det. Supt. Sanderson said.

"It’s a pleasing outcome because it significantly impacts the amount of drugs on our streets."
