Police have arrested and charged a man with numerous firearms offences after executing two search warrants in Melbourne’s north last week., Victoria Police say
Detectives from North-West Metro Division 5 Serious Crime Taskforce executed two search warrants in Lalor on Friday, 16 February as part of an ongoing operation.
A number of items were seized during the warrants including a hand gun, an imitation assault rifle, a canister alleged to contain tear gas, and a quantity of drugs.
A 23-year-old Lalor man was arrested and interviewed by detectives.
He has since been charged with 11 offences including:
• 3 counts of possess prohibited weapon
• Cultivate and possess cannabis
• Possess amphetamine
• Possess proceeds of crime
The man was bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court on 29 June.
