Charges follow pedestrian hit run Epping

Police have charged a man following an alleged hit run collision in Epping yesterday.

It is believed a 26-year-old man was crossing the road at traffic lights on High Street about 8pm when he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and is in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Mill Park man, attended the Epping police station after the collision where he was arrested.

He has since been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, drive unlicensed, fail to stop, and fail to render assistance.

The Mill Park man was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
