Charges following Bacchus Marsh fatal crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit members have charged a man in relation to a fatal crash in Bacchus Marsh on 25 March, Victoria Police say.

A Holden ute was travelling east along Bacchus Marsh Road about 2.00am when it is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle which left the road and hit a tree.

A passenger in the car, a 22-year-old New Gisborne man, died at the scene.

The 25-year-old driver, from Bacchus Marsh, has been charged with numerous offences including culpable driving, speed dangerous and drink driving.

He has been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 30 March.
