Charges following Morwell stabbing

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged stabbing in Morwell on 21 March, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged an altercation occurred between a 54-year-old man and 57-year-old woman at a residential address in McDonald Street about 3.30am.

A 35-year-old woman intervened before both women were allegedly stabbed.

Both were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The man has been charged with a number of offences, including:

-attempted murder

-aggravated burglary

-two counts of intentionally cause injury

-two counts of intentionally cause serious injury

-three counts of common law assault; and

-two counts of assault with weapon

He has been remanded to appear at Latrobe Magistrates’ Court on 26 March.
