Charges following Southbank affray

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged four people following an alleged affray in Southbank this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police were called to the boulevard about 1.20am this morning after reports of a group of people fighting.

When police arrived they located a man with head injuries believed to have been suffered in a fall.

A second man was found with rib injuries.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 26-year-old woman from Richmond, a 25-year-old woman from Abbotsford, a 21-year-old woman from Richmond and a 24-year-old man from St Kilda were arrested at the scene and have been charged with affray, assault in company and other assault related matters.

They have been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 30 November.
