Charges following string of incidents in Sunbury

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a St Albans man following a number of incidents in Sunbury earlier this week, Victoria Police say.

Police initially observed a vehicle with allegedly false number plates travelling along Phillip Drive about 1.15am yesterday morning (12 December).

Officers attempted to intercept however the car allegedly sped away, with three occupants fleeing on foot.

A 29-year-old Sunbury woman was arrested at the scene and has been charged with use and possess drug of dependence.

She has been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A 38-year-old St Albans man was also arrested in the vicinity with assistance from the Dog Squad.

He has been released pending further enquiries.

A 29-year-old St Albans man was later arrested about 2.30am after falling through the ceiling of a home on Fullwood Drive.

It is alleged the man was involved in an incident shortly beforehand where two people were falsely imprisoned in a home on the same street.

He was taken to hospital under police guard.

The man has since been charged with a number of offences, including false imprisonment, reckless conduct causing serious injury, reckless driving while being pursued by police and bail-related offences.

He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today for a filing hearing.
