Charges laid after man shot and witness threatened in Albury

A man will face court today after another man was shot near Albury last month and a witness was allegedly threatened, NSW Police say.

On Saturday 24 March 2018, police were called to a home on Young Street, Oaklands, after reports a man had been shot in the thigh.

Officers from Murray River Police District seized a number of items from the premises including prohibited weapons and prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a man at Urana about 9pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 April 2018).

He was taken to Albury Police Station and was charged with discharge firearm in manner to injure another, reckless wounding in company, possess unauthorised firearm, use carriage service to threaten to kill and threaten witness.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Albury Local Court today (Thursday 12 April 2018).
