Charges laid following multi-vehicle crash in Lawson

Police have charged a man over a multi-vehicle crash in the Blue Mountains area, NSW Police say.

About 6pm yesterday (Thursday 12 April 2018), emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway at Lawson, following reports several vehicles had collided.

Police will allege a Holden Commodore and a Mazda 3 collided, causing the Mazda to crash into a Toyota Corolla.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police District, with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit, established a crime scene.

During initial inquiries police discovered the Holden was stolen.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and placed under police guard at Nepean Hospital.

He has since been charged with two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct (in charge of motor vehicle); drive conveyance without consent of owner; never licenced person drive vehicle on road.

The man has been bail refused to appear at Penrith Local Court on 20 April 2018.

Inquiries continue and police anticipate further charges to be laid.
