Two men have been arrested and charged following investigations into several alleged armed robberies over 5 months in South West Sydney, NSW Police say.
Strike Force Agria was commenced by investigators attached to the Metropolitan Robbery Unit to investigate the armed robberies of several fast food delivery drivers between April and September this year.
The robberies are alleged to have occurred in the Bonnyrigg, Wetherill Park, Fairfield, Edensor Park, Carnes Hill, Cecil Hills, Cabramatta, Wakeley, Casula and St Johns Park areas of South West Sydney.
Police will allege the two men would follow the drivers to their delivery addresses and confront them with knives or other sharp objects before demanding cash, mobile phones and other items.
Following investigations, police arrested two men in Yennora today.
Both men were taken to Fairfield Police Station.
A 31-year-old man was charged with 11 counts of robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
A 27-year-old man was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon – accessory after the fact.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court tomorrow.
A subsequent search warrant was also executed at a home in Edensor Park where mobile phones, a vehicle and other items of interest were seized for forensic analysis.
Investigations by Strike Force Agria are continuing.
