Charges laid over historical sexual assault offences in Northern Beaches PAC

A man has been charged over alleged historical sexual assault offences committed on Sydney’s northern beaches and north-west in the 1990s, NSW Police say.

On Friday 10 April 1992, police will allege a man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy during a youth camp at a caravan park in Narrabeen.

In late 1998, the man allegedly indecently assaulted a 17-year-old boy while the two worked at a business in Wisemans Ferry over the course of four weeks.

A report was made to officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation.

About 7.30am yesterday (Tuesday 19 June 2018), police stopped a car on Buckingham Street, Kellyville Ridge.

The driver, a 47-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with seven offences, including:

  • aggravated indecent assault – victim under the age of 16 years (x2);
  • homosexual intercourse with male under 18 years (x2);
  • attempt homosexual intercourse with male under 18 years;
  • gross indecency by male with male under 18 years;
  • use child under 18 years for pornographic purposes.

He was refused bail and appeared at Blacktown Local Court yesterday where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on Tuesday 14 August 2018.
