Charges laid over road rage incident in Fairfield

Police have charged a man following an alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s west this week, NSW Police say.

Just before 5pm on Tuesday (10 April 2018), a Toyota Hilux and a jeep stopped at the intersection of The Horseley Drive and McLaren Street, Fairfield.

The Toyota driver got out of his vehicle and approached the jeep driver, a 34-year-old man, allegedly punching him through the open window.

An altercation ensued on the road and members of the public intervened.

Both men left the scene.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquires, police arrested a 25-year-old man at Fairfield Police Station about 8.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 April 2018).

He was charged with affray, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday 7 May 2018.
