Charges laid over stabbing in Glebe

A man has been charged following a stabbing in Glebe today.

About 7.15am today (Thursday 19 July 2018), emergency services were called to Wigram Road, Glebe after reports two men aged 44 and 49, were involved in an altercation, NSW Police say.

Upon arrival, officers located a man with a wound to his chest.


The 44-year-old man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 49-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to Glebe Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court tomorrow (Friday 20 July 2018).
