Charges over Armed Robbery at Kingston, QLD

Six teenagers have been charged following an alleged assault and armed robbery at Kingston Railway Station on Sunday, December 17, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged that around 2.45pm, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were sitting at a bus stop when they were approached by a group of eight teenagers.

The group has allegedly made threats to harm the pair with glass bottles, while demanding the boy’s shoes.

The boy and girl have attempted to walk away but were assaulted, causing the 14-year-old girl to lose consciousness.

The 15-year-old-boy has handed over his shoes and the group has run away.

He sustained injuries to his face and torso and the 14-year-old girl sustained head and facial injuries.

Both were treated at Logan Hospital.

A short while later, police arrested eight teenagers at Beenleigh Railway Station.

A 14-year-old Woodridge boy has been charged with one count each of armed robbery with violence and wilful damage.

A 14-year-old Logan Central girl has been charged with one count each of assault and armed robbery with violence.

Two boys, aged 13 and 14, from Woodridge and two boys, aged 14 and 15, from Kingston were each charged with one count of armed robbery with violence.

All those charged will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.

Investigations are ongoing.
