Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to property offences.
Around 6:30pm on 20 November the four youths are alleged to have cut the power to the premises of a sporting club in Palmerston, damaging the property in their attempt to gain entry, Northern Territory Police say.
This was observed on CCTV by the club's manager who arrived on scene and gave chase to the youths.
Palmerston officers and a Dog Operations Unit member responded to the scene and apprehended the group.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan from Strike Force Trident said this incident is not believed to be connected with the unlawful entries that occurred in the Berrimah and Winnellie area over the weekend.
"At the time of installing CCTV equipment the club’s management decided to have it connected to an uninterrupted power supply," he said.
"This enabled the CCTV to continue operating even after the power supply had been cut."
A 14-year old male was charged with:
- 1 x Interfere with electricity installation
- 1 x Trespass
- 1 x Damage to property
- 1 x Attempt to commit a crime
- 2 x Breach suspended sentence
A 13-year-old male and 14-year-old male were charged with:
- 1 x Interfere with electricity installation
- 1 x Trespass
- 1 x Damage to property
- 1 x Attempt to commit a crime
- 1 x Breach Good Behaviour Bond
A 15-year-old was charged with:
- 1 x Interfere with electricity installation
- 1 x Trespass
- 3 x Damage to property
- 1 x Attempt to commit a crime
- 1 x Unlawful entry
- 1 x Stealing
All four have been denied youth diversion.
