Charity box stolen during Burwood East burglary

Police are investigating the theft of a charity box during a burglary in Burwood East this morning, Victoria Police say.

It is believed that two or three offenders attended at the RSPCA on Burwood Highway in a vehicle about 4.15am.

The offenders have used a hammer to smash glass at the entrance to gain entry.

Once inside, the offenders have stolen a donation box containing a moderate amount of cash.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man and a vehicle they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives appeal to anyone who may recognise the offenders and vehicle to come forward.
