Cheltenham piling works

Things could get a little noisy around the Park Road rail crossing in the next few weeks. The Level Crossing Removal Project advises us that piling works will occur during November and December along the rail line between Cheltenham station and Churchill Avenue but test piling works will commence this month.

Large piling rigs will drill holes ranging from 15 - 50 metres deep along the rail corridor. A steel cage is then lowered into each hole and concrete poured in. This work strengthens the ground for the new rail trench walls.

Local residents may experience some noise and vibration and an increase in heavy vehicles on local streets delivering and removing equipment from the work site. Activities will mainly take place between 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am - 1pm on Saturdays.

There will be some night works coming up and closures to the railway crossings but affected residents will be notified by letter from LXRP and we will share the news on our website and social media.
