Child approach - Coffs Harbour, NSW

Investigations are underway into a reported child approach at Coffs Harbour overnight, NSW Police say.

Police have been told four children, aged between two and nine, were playing on McLean Street Oval about 7.30pm (Friday 1 December 2017), when they were approached by a man who’d been jogging around the oval.

The man reportedly picked up the two-year-old child and jogged with her for a short distance before the child’s sister yelled at him and he put her down.

The man then left the scene.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command were alerted.

They have been told the man was of Indian Sub-continental or Asian appearance, 40 to 50 years old, 170cm to 180cm tall, with a thin build and short dark hair.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the man involved to contact Coffs Harbour Police or Crime Stoppers.
