A child has died after being struck by a car in Sydney's southwest today.
About 12pm, (Saturday 31 May 2025), emergency services were called to Culgoa Bend, Villawood, following reports a child had been struck by a car.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and were told an 18-month-old girl was allegedly struck by a car in the driveway of a home which was driven by a 28-year-old woman.
The child was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to The Childrens Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition; however, the child died.
The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene which will be investigated by officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
