Child Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle At Dubbo 16 April

A child has died after being struck by a vehicle in the state's central west.

About 6.40pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 April 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a child had been hit by a vehicle on Ingrid Place, Dubbo.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 4-year-old boy at the scene where he was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital but died a short time later.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for purpose of mandatory testing and was released from police custody pending further inquiries.

There were no reports of any other person being injured.
