Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a child who was struck by a motor vehicle at Cootamundra earlier today.
About 4pm today a motor vehicle left the driveway of a home in Sutton Street driven by a 41-year-old man.
The vehicle continued with the driver unaware that a 3-year-old boy had been run over and seriously injured.
Emergency services were contacted with the child conveyed to Cootamundra Base Hospital where he sadly passed away.
Police from Cootamundra Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The driver was located and has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests.
