Child drowns in Orange

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after a child drowned in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

About 3.35pm yesterday (Saturday 4 November 2017), emergency services were called to an aquatic centre on Hill Street, Orange, after a four-year-old girl was found motionless in a pool.

Attempts to revive the child were made by family and lifeguards on scene before she was taken to Orange Base Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police from Canobolas Local Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident and are speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
