Child hit by car in Campbelltown

Police are investigating after a child was hit by a car in Sydney’s south west this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 3.05pm today, a seven-year-old boy was hit by a red Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback while crossing Valley Road, Campbelltown.

Police have been told the female driver stopped briefly before leaving the scene without rendering assistance.

The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Officers from Campbelltown Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to the driver who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance with an olive complexion and long brown hair.
