Child hit by car, NSW

Police are investigating after a child was hit by a car in Dee Why this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Police were called to Fisher Road, about 5.20pm today, following reports that a child had been hit by a car.

A nine-year-old boy was treated at the scene for minor injuries and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital

Although it is early in the investigation, police believe the child ran onto the road and was hit by the passing car.

The female driver of the car is assisting with inquiries.

Officers from Northern Beaches Local Area Command continue to make inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
