Child remains in stable condition after near-drowning at Blacktown

A child remains in a stable condition after a near-drowning in a backyard pool in Blacktown today.

About 1.40pm (Sunday 24 October 2021), emergency services were called to a home on Charles Street, Blacktown, following reports a two-year-old boy had been pulled from a backyard pool unresponsive and unconscious.

NSW Ambulance paramedics assisted the child at the scene, before he was taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue; however, the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
