A child has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Sydney's west this afternoon.
About 3.45pm (Thursday 30 October 2025), emergency services were called to Clower Avenue, Rouse Hill, following reports of a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command were told a 5-year-old girl was riding a scooter on the footpath before she was hit by a ute.
The girl was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children's Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver – a 43-year-old man – was taken to Westmead Hospital for a mandatory testing.
Both the ute and the scooter were seized for forensic examination.
A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
