A man is due in court today charged with child sex offences after he was arrested at his home in Mascot, NSW Police say.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad, assisted by officers from Redfern Local Area Command, executed a search warrant on a home in Coward Street, Mascot, yesterday (7 October 2016).
A blue H2 Hummer, laptop computers, mobile phones, storage devices and clothing were seized during the execution of the search warrant.
They arrested a 36-year-old man and took him to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with eight offences:
• Aggravated sexual Intercourse with person between 10-14 years
• Sexual intercourse with person between 14-16 years (two counts)
• Possess child abuse material (three counts)
• Produce child abuse material
• Disseminate child abuse material
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
Investigations by Child Abuse Squad detectives are continuing.
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
