On behalf of the United States of America and the American people, I send our best wishes to the people of Chile as they celebrate 213 years of independence.
I also send heartfelt gratitude for the close and productive partnership that our two countries have shared for more than two centuries. Our shared commitment to human rights, democracy, transparency, and free markets have helped our two nations overcome the many domestic, regional, and global challenges that we have confronted, and set the stage for our deep and abiding friendship.
As we commemorate this shared history between the Chilean and American people, it is my honor to wish a happy Independence Day to all Chileans.
