CIMIC Group’s mineral processing company, Sedgman, has been awarded contracts by New Century Resources (ASX: NCZ) for the reconfiguration, refurbishment and operational readiness of the Lawn Hill processing plant facility and Karumba port in Queensland.
The contracts for engineering, procurement, construction and operational readiness will generate revenue to Sedgman of approximately $40 million.
Sedgman Managing Director Grant Fraser said: "This contract is a valued addition to our mineral processing portfolio. We are pleased to continue working with New Century Resources to deliver Sedgman’s full project cycle service offering, adding value from feasibility study through to operation.

In November 2017 Sedgman, in collaboration with New Century Resources, completed a feasibility study on the restart of the Century Zinc mine, concentrate pipeline and Karumba port. Early works at the site commenced in December 2017 and the project is on track to re-commence production in the third quarter of 2018.
The project comprises civil, structural, mechanical, piping and electrical work for additions to the facility, as well as refurbishment, commissioning works and operations readiness services. ---
