City of Canada Bay lights up

The City of Canada Bay will be trialling extended lighting at 10 parks and sportsfields to provide more opportunities for residents in lockdown to be active.

The designated sportsfields will be lit up from 5-8pm Monday to Friday.

"The additional lighting will provide more time for people to exercise during the shorter winter days," City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

"It will also help reduce crowding at our popular walkways and open spaces, allowing people to exercise more safely."

"This is just one of many measures we have implemented to support our community through these challenging times."

The following parks will be lit from Monday to Friday until 8pm:

  • Sid Richards Park
  • Edwards Park
  • Greenlees Park
  • Queen Elizabeth Park
  • St Lukes Park (fields 1,2 and 3)
  • St Lukes Oval
  • Five Dock Park
  • Timbrell Park
  • Campbell Park
  • Taplin Park.

All residents must follow current NSW Health advice.
