The City of Greater Bendigo has created a new Emergency Dashboard on its website where residents can find important information before, during and after bushfires, floods, storms, and other emergencies.
The Emergency Dashboard features:
- Real-time warnings and weather updates
- Road closures and community alerts
- Relief centre and sandbagging locations (when activated)
- Easy links to preparedness and recovery resources
- Mobile-friendly design for quick access on your phone
City of Greater Bendigo Healthy Communities and Environments Director Jess Howard said the dashboard brings together updates from trusted sources like VicEmergency, SES and CFA along with weather alerts, road closures and power outages.
"During an emergency, it will show you where to find help, such as relief centres, sandbagging locations and recovery services," Ms Howard said.
"It has been designed to make it easy for everyone to find the right information when they need it most.
"Emergencies can happen at any time so having one place for clear, up-to-date information means our community can act quickly and stay safe.
"The Emergency Dashboard is part of our commitment to helping the community stay safe and informed and we encourage everyone to bookmark the dashboard and share it with family and friends.
"The Dashboard also includes the City's new 'What's Your Plan?' guides. These simple resources show you how to make an emergency plan for your family or business, pack an emergency kit and understand local risks.
"You can find these guides on the dashboard, on our website, or pick up a copy from the City's Bendigo and Heathcote offices.
"Preparedness starts with a plan and the City's new resources make it easy for everyone to take action now, not later."
