Following a weekend of wild weather, Council is focused on restoring public safety and access. Fallen trees and debris have affected roads and public spaces, with clean-up crews working across the region.
Given the scale of the event, full restoration will take time. As the event has not been declared a natural disaster, Council does not have access to additional funding and is unable to assist with clean-up on private land, including tree removal. Responsibility for managing trees on private property rests with the landowner.
Council's Works teams are currently collecting and chipping green waste from roadsides and public areas. Green waste from private properties should be placed in household green bins or taken to a Council waste facility. Usage of your waste vouchers is encouraged otherwise standard fees apply, as outlined in the 2025–2026 Fees and Charges.
If a tree poses a risk to public roads or footpaths, please report it to Council for assessment.
