Closure of Operation Tango Eel, Greater Brisbane and Redlands

Detectives from Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged nine people for 52 offences as part of Operation Tango Eel.

Operation Tango Eel was established to target the distribution of cocaine and methylamphetamine in the Redlands and Greater Brisbane areas.

The closure of the 12-month operation included a number of search warrants on properties and vehicles across the region and has resulted in police seizing approximately 1.1kg of cocaine, 1.1kg of methylamphetamine, 263 grams of MDMA, $22,166 in cash and a 2017 BMW M4.

A 47-year-old Wellington Point man has been charged with eleven offences including three counts of drug trafficking, five counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing a relevant substance. He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on October 6.

A 44-year-old Thornlands woman has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking and one count of possessing dangerous drugs. She is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on October 6.

A 42-year-old Thornlands man has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug. He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on October 6.

A 21-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with eleven offences including four counts of drug trafficking and four counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

A 23-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of possessing a restricted drug.

Both men are expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 13.

A 21-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with three counts of drug trafficking and one count of possessing dangerous drugs. He is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 15.

A 42-year-old Bahrs Scrub man has been charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court today (August 31).

A 41-year-old Capalaba woman has been charged with one count of possessing tainted property, she is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 22.

A 26-year-old Wellington Point woman has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 6.
