Closure on M5 Motorway at Georges River Bridge

Please be advised of bridge work being carried out on the M5 Motorway (South West) on the Georges River Bridge between Henry Lawson Drive and Heathcote Road from 10pm to 5:00am Tuesday 19 to Wednesday 20 April, 2022.

The bridge is expected to be lowered from 11pm to 12:30am.

Police will be on site at the time of the lowering. Heavy vehicles exceeding 68T are urged to use detours. Alternatively, they will have to wait for up to 1.5 hours in the closure area as instructed by police until the bridge has been lowered.

Westbound: Heavy vehicles exceeding 68T can use the M5 Motorway off-ramp to Henry Lawson Drive, Newbridge Road, Nuwarra Road or Moorebank Avenue.

Eastbound: Heavy vehicles exceeding 68T can use the M5 Motorway off-ramp to Heathcote Road, Newbridge Road, Henry Lawson Drive.

Signage will alert road users to changes and traffic conditions.

For the safety of workers and motorists a weight restriction applies to the bridge.
