Cocaine, cannabis and cash seized, SA

Two men are facing serious drug charges after police located 50 kilograms of drugs during searches this week, according to SA Police.

Hills Fleurieu Police searched a Forreston home on Monday 29 January and allegedly located and seized approximately 40 kilograms of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Further investigation led police to search other premises in Goodwood and Athelstone, resulting in seizures of seven kilograms of cannabis and three kilograms of block cocaine. Cash totalling $65,400 was seized.

A 20-year-old Athelstone man was arrested and charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, taking part in the sale of a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, money laundering and providing false details.

He appeared in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody.
