Colac Woman's Social Media Leads to $620K Lotto Win

The Lott

When a Colac woman saw on Facebook that a local had won $620,000 in TattsLotto, she assumed it was someone else, until she checked her ticket and her world flipped upside-down.

The Victorian held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4579, drawn Saturday 7 June 2025. She looks forward to $627,568.96.

This is the second division one winning entry to land in the Colac region, following a $3.3 million TattsLotto prize claimed by a local man in May.

"Oh my god! Thank you very much," she exclaimed when we revealed the exciting news.

"It's a bit surreal. It's a lot of money!

"I play now and then, not religiously. I'm so shocked to have won!

"I went to the post office the other day to pick something up and on the way back to my car, something came over me to buy a TattsLotto ticket… and the rest is history!

"I didn't even check my ticket. I saw on Facebook that Colac Lotto had sold a division one winning entry, and I remembered I had purchased a ticket from there.

"It's wonderful!"

With a boost headed to her bank account, the elated woman had a couple of priorities in mind, starting with wiping out her mortgage.

"I can pay off the mortgage and then complete some renovations as well," she shared.

"It was actually quite funny - my family wanted to do a cruise earlier in the year, and I told them that I wouldn't be able to budget it into my life, but now I don't care what I pay for the cruise!

"Thank you. This is quite nice. A special touch!"

Her winning entry was purchased at Colac Lotto, 146 Murray Street, Colac.

Colac Lotto manager Rachael Anderson said her team were so excited to have sold a division one winning entry.

"We're stoked. We've dressed up in party clothes for the day and have started to decorate the store to let all of our customers know - starting with the windows!" she said

"Our customers will be so excited to hear that we've sold another division one winning entry. The last time we sold one was only last year.

"We've had a good run at Colac Lotto - selling 31 division one winning entries over 15 years!

"Congratulations from all of us here at Colac Lotto. We wish our winner all the very best."
