Spring is here! To celebrate and stimulate local business, we are encouraging both locals and visitors to Shop in our Shire and spy our new spring flower bikes.
Until mid-November, spring flower bikes will be installed outside various businesses to add some colour to the local streetscapes, while drawing in visitors to enjoy all that our local businesses have to offer.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to search out the bikes, identifiable by the colourful blooms in their baskets, take a selfie and enter Visit Nillumbik's Instagram competition to win some great prizes.
Nillumbik Mayor Frances Eyre said that Shop in our Shire and the spring flower bikes installation were a response to help stimulate spring trading, while celebrating the change of seasons.
"Installations are a fantastic way to enliven places, enhance the shopping experience and increase visitation," Cr Eyre said.
"It's also great free fun for residents and visitors alike, with prizes to be won as well!"
Spring is a wonderful time to visit Nillumbik and spend time exploring the Shire's vibrant local dining and retail scene.
The spring flower bikes will appear on the streets of Nillumbik from 5 September.
