Community And Sports Small Grants Program Offers Financial Boost

Gunnedah Shire Council

Gunnedah Shire Council has launched its 2025-26 round of the Section 356 Community and Sports Small Grants Program, and eligible groups are invited to apply.

Since its inception 21 years ago, almost $600,000 has been awarded to initiatives that support the work and interests of, our amazing not-for-profit, charitable, community and sporting groups.

Gunnedah Shire Mayor Colleen Fuller said the level of funding available under the program was dependent on the project and applicants must be based in the Gunnedah Shire.

"Funding can be up to $5000, GST-exclusive, which is a fantastic financial lift for some of our smaller groups," she said.

"Council recognises the valuable contribution these community groups and sporting clubs make to the fabric of our community and in particular, the volunteers that work tirelessly to raise funds to keep those organisations functioning.

"When assessing the applications, priority will be given to those projects and initiatives that not only help organisations to grow and be sustainable, but also those that add to the vibrancy of our broader community."
