Community Council shifts to Belgian Gardens

Townsville residents will have a chance to speak to the Mayor, their local Councillo and senior Townsville City Council staff at the Community Council in Belgian Gardens tomorrow night.

Local Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said it is a great way for people to discuss new or ongoing issues.

"Community Council gives people an opportunity to talk to Townsville City Council face to face," Cr Greaney said.

"We are coming off a very busy time in Townsville so this is a chance for people to let us know what they thought about the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA) – or the other events we've had across the city.

"Mayor Jenny Hill made a commitment to take Council to the suburbs and Community Council is an important part of our Open Council reforms.

"This is a family-friendly meeting so all residents are invited to come along."

Residents are invited to attend Community Council from 6pm tomorrow night at the Townsville Senior Citizens Welfare Association Ryan Street in Belgian Gardens.
