Council's Community Grants Program has assisted another not-for-profit organisation carry out important work in our shire.

South West Rocks Community Dune Care were successful recipients of a $5,000 Environmental Levy Grant, funded by Council's Community Grants Program, which allowed the community-led group to pay contractors in their fight to wipe out noxious weeds.

"KSC Community Grant funding has allowed us to employ a contractor to spray the difficult to access weeds along the footpath adjacent to Main Beach, where we have previously removed invasive weeds," said South West Rocks Community Dune Care President Ian Burnett.

"Our volunteers will complement this by removing the other weeds that have contaminated this area, stopping them from spreading throughout the local environment."
