The final round of Council's Community Sponsorship Program for the financial year is open for applications until 3 May 2020.

The program provides funding support to local community events as well as to ambassadors that positively promote the Baw Baw Shire region.

Community groups are encouraged to apply for funding through the program, which has supported a number of events including those hosted by the Drouin Ficifolia Festival, the Trafalgar Holden Museum and the Baw Baw Arts Alliance.

Eligible events may receive up to $5,000 in sponsorship funding. Eligible Baw Baw Ambassadors may receive up to $500 for individuals or $1,500 for groups or teams.

Community events may still be 12 months away but can still be planned for and are eligible to receive funding.

Visit Council's Community Sponsorship webpage for full eligibility criteria and applications.

As noted by Mayor Cr Danny Goss

"We acknowledge that events and activities aren't taking place now, however, this program gives community groups extra time to plan for a great event when we get to the other side of this situation. Community events and activities are some of the best things about living in Baw Baw Shire, and this program is a great way to take your event to the next level."
