December 11, 2019 - OTTAWA, ON

The Competition Bureau and the Government of Yukon have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance their joint efforts to protect public contracts from bid-rigging and other collusive activity.

The Bureau and the Government of Yukon both work to ensure fair and competitive public procurement processes, which allow Canadians to get the best value for their tax dollars. Competition also drives innovation and economic growth, to the benefit of both consumers and businesses.

The MOU establishes a framework for collaboration and coordination between the Bureau and the Government of Yukon in three key areas:

  1. detecting and addressing potential bid-rigging and other collusive activity in relation to Government of Yukon procurement processes;
  2. sharing resources, information and best practices related to competition and procurement; and
  3. engaging in joint education and outreach activities to raise awareness about preventing bid-rigging and other collusive activity.

The Competition Bureau is committed to building strong, collaborative relationships with its partners to ensure that Canadians prosper in a competitive and innovative marketplace.
